The early ‘80’s saw the company grow at a slow and steady pace. There were learnings from every new store and the product selection evolved as well. The stores carried over 100 styles of Women’s and Men’s jeans that were displayed on a Style Rack. The business was seeing an increase in rock graphic tees, sweaters, jackets, and accessories including rock albums and posters. The children’s clothing line was also growing, and the goal was to be a ONE stop shop for the entire family! By the end of the decade the company had grown to 15 locations in MB, SK and AB. Warehouse One had established a reputation for having Great Selection, Service, Value, Quality, & Price.

By the mid ‘90s sales in youth product had grown and was taking more square footage in every store; there were even discussions of opening a Warehouse One Kids Store. The youth marketing had attitude and made Warehouse One a cool place to shop… even with Mom! As the number of stores and positions continued to grow, so did the need for more space. This saw the move of the Winnipeg, MB Head Office and Distribution Centre to a much bigger, brighter and impressive 590 Moray site.

In the late ‘90s Warehouse One launched its very own Online Ecommerce Store. It offered a wider size range of tops and a broader selection of waist sizes and inseams in jean styles than available in stores.

The early aughts saw some growing pains for Warehouse One. The company quickly opened a number of store locations across the country, as well as acquired a new, state-of-the-art distribution centre with the goal of manufacturing up to 80% of all Warehouse One products by the end of 2001. This expansion turned out to be too ambitions for the company. By the end of 2002, Warehouse One was acquired by Bob Silver and the Stern group, who closed stores, cut costs, and started rebuilding the brand from the ground up.  

A full company rebrand began early in 2010, and saw a new logo, new company values, and a new store concept. Partnerships with Dauphin Country Fest and Children’s Wish (now Make-a-Wish) were formed and strengthened, and a new rewards program, Real Rewards (now known as Warehouse One Perks) was instated. From Newfoundland to Vancouver Island, new stores were opened coast to coast across Canada.

The business experienced many exciting milestones during these ten years, including a brand new E-Commerce website in 2017, and a new centralized Head Office, Distribution, and E-Commerce shipping warehouse in Winnipeg, Manitoba. 

Several changes to product were also implemented, including a focus on plus and inclusive sizing in both men’s & women’s apparel, as well as a focus on ethical & sustainable manufacturing. In 2021, Warehouse One relaunched Grand Beach Club, an iconic in house brand from the late 80s. Early 2022 saw this brand grow even further with its own marketing and online shopping experience. 

The company continues to learn and grow from the past, and has many more exciting things in the works!
